
“Ostrakon” Discovery kit
Find a unique pottery fragment (ostrakon in greek) and learn about ostracism in ancient Athens. Contains a fragment from an Attic black glazed pot engraved with the name of a famous Athenian statesman (Aristides, Themistocles, Kimon, Pericles), other artifacts and sea shells embedded (buried) in a mixture of gypsum, clay and sand. It also contains a safe wooden digging tool, a small toothbrush and a protective dust mask as well as instructions and information material on Ostracism in ancient Athens.
