Terracotta Statuette of a Woman with Bird Face, ca. 1450–1200 BCE
This figurine exemplifies Cypriot coroplastic art from the Late Cypriot II and III periods. While this type, with its emphasized pubic triangle and prominent breasts, likely originated in Syria, Cypriot artisans developed distinct local variations. The statuette is handmade with a smoothed surface, featuring pellet-shaped eyes surrounded by rings. Each of the large, flat ears has two perforations holding earrings; the lower ones display overlapping terminals. In 2020, a set of two reproductions was created by Chrysanthi Pantelidou.
